In recent years, numerous lawsuits have been filed against the paraquat manufacturers, alleging that they failed to warn users of the potential risks associated with using the product. The plaintiffs in these lawsuits claim that they developed Parkinson’s from exposure to paraquat.

In 2019, a jury awarded $5.6 million to a plaintiff in a paraquat case in California. The jury found that the herbicide manufacturer had failed to warn the plaintiff of the potential health risks associated with the product. In 2020, a jury in Washington awarded $1.3 million to a plaintiff exposed to paraquat and developed Parkinson’s disease. There have been numerous other settlements and payments to plaintiffs in paraquat cases. In 2018, a jury awarded $7.5 million to a plaintiff in a paraquat case in Missouri. In 2019, a jury awarded a plaintiff in a paraquat case in Texas $15 million. In 2020, a jury in Arizona awarded a plaintiff $8 million in a paraquat case. These cases demonstrate that paraquat manufacturers can be held liable for failing to warn users of the potential risks associated with using the product. As more plaintiffs come forward, more settlements and payments will likely be made to plaintiffs in paraquat cases.
